In a Life-Threatening Emergency, Call 911
For fire, medical emergencies, or crimes in progress, always call 911 first. Then contact property management to report the situation.

Building emergencies during and after business hours. Report minor leaks, lights out, insecure doors, for example.
Emergency Procedures
Fire
- 1Activate the nearest fire alarm pull station.
- 2Call 911 immediately.
- 3Evacuate the building using stairwells. Do not use elevators.
- 4Close doors behind you as you exit.
- 5Meet at the designated assembly point away from the building.
- 6Do not re-enter until cleared by the fire department.
Water Leak / Flood
- 1If safe, try to contain the water with towels or containers.
- 2Turn off the water source if you can identify and access it.
- 3Contact Go Smart Property Management immediately.
- 4Move valuables away from the affected area.
- 5Do not use electrical appliances near standing water.
Power Outage
- 1Check if the outage is limited to your unit or the entire building.
- 2Contact ENMAX for area-wide outages.
- 3Contact property management for building-specific issues.
- 4Avoid opening your fridge or freezer to preserve food.
- 5Use flashlights instead of candles.
Gas Leak
- 1If you smell gas, do not turn on or off any electrical switches.
- 2Open windows if it is safe to do so.
- 3Leave the building immediately.
- 4Call ATCO Gas at 1-800-511-3447 from outside the building.
- 5Call 911 if the smell is strong.
- 6Do not re-enter until cleared by ATCO.
Be Prepared
Keep emergency contact numbers saved in your phone. Know the location of fire extinguishers and exits on your floor. Ensure your unit number is clearly visible for emergency responders. If you have special medical needs, consider informing property management so they can assist during emergencies.
